Heritage and modernity, Jamaica and San Francisco, personal history and collective memory
Nastacia Lee is the founder and designer of 9th Parish, a San Francisco–based lifestyle and apparel brand established in November 2024. She was raised in New York City, where the pace, diversity, and constant movement shaped her eye for style and self-expression. A graduate of San Francisco State University with a degree in Apparel Design and Merchandising, she has worked in the fashion industry for more than twenty years. Her experience spans sales, visual merchandising, and technical design—roles that sharpened her attention to detail and her respect for the labor of making. 9th Parish is the culmination of that journey: a space where heritage, sustainability, and innovation converge.
9th Parish is rooted in Nastacia’s Jamaican heritage. Its name honors St. Catherine, Jamaica’s ninth parish, whose capital, Spanish Town, once stood as the island’s seat of power. For Nastacia, the ninth parish is a symbolic territory—carried across the diaspora and sustained wherever she is in order to keep her culture alive. It is within this space that she grounds her work, drawing on a spirit of resilience and artistry that shapes the foundation of 9th Parish.
9th Parish creates seasonless garments in rare editions—small runs and singular works. These pieces are made for the global tastemaker(connoisseur) who values individuality over trend. Each design is crafted with precision and care, emphasizing high-end materials, local labor, and a respect for the process. It is not just clothing, it's craft, culture, and continuity made to endure.
